Mission Statement
A common misconception is that the benefits of gymnastics, ninja fitness and cheer are achieved only by competitive athletes who have dedicated their lives to the sport. On the contrary, the benefits are all-encompassing and are felt by recreational and competitive athletes alike.
Tumbling on a mat, hanging and swinging from the bars, and bouncing on the trampoline all provide a sensory input that connects the body to the brain. Whether a child decides to pursue competitive gymnastics, cheer or ninja, or another sport, the physical benefits of enhanced postural control, bilateral integration, and body awareness are transferable and beneficial to whatever passion a child decides to pursue.
There is a natural synergy between gymnastics, cheer and ninja, as many cheer and ninja fundamentals are rooted in gymnastics. As a gymnast, cheer or ninja athlete, one quickly learns the importance of maintaining a positive attitude even when the task is challenging. It is during those struggles that significant personal growth can occur. By overcoming those struggles, athletes, whether recreational or competitive, develop grit and determination that will help them succeed in the game of life.
Separately, but equally important, are the friendships children make through participation in sports. As children work toward achieving their goals, they learn to celebrate the success of their teammates and classmates as much as their own and offer support on “off days” as well. As our students progress through their classes or team levels, they have the opportunity to build strong friendships with their peers — relationships that are supported by the gym and cherished by the athletes.
